Car and home owners who plump for MINT's new policies can enjoy a 15 per cent discount on the first year of their home insurance and a ten per cent discount on motor insurance that is purchased online or alongside MINT's home insurance policy.

MINT hopes customers will be encouraged to take out their new policies, particularly in light of predicted bad weather, which could cause car accidents and damage property.

Managing director of MINT, Jerry Toher, said: "With the predictions of a long and cold winter, driving conditions will inevitably get harder for motorists and homes will be more susceptible to emergencies such as burst pipes.
