Consumers can now visit the Cox HealthPlans Web site, www.coxhealthplans.com , to get an instant health insurance quote for themselves and their families, compare rates and coverage, and apply online, officials said.

"Using the quoting software, our customers can select the coverage that best fits their needs, get a quote and apply online for coverage," said Jacob Salinas, vice president of marketing. "More and more people are using the Web as a means to compare and shop. We wanted to make the customers' experience simple to navigate and eliminate the hassle factor of completing paper forms."

ClearBlueWeb Solutions Inc., a Springfield-based venture software company, built the customer-friendly tool SureHub.com, ClearBlue's insurance quoting and distribution platform.

"Cox HealthPlans recognizes the growing demand of people who prefer to research and shop for health insurance on the Internet. We are able to apply our expertise in insurance and software usability to make it the best experience for potential Cox HealthPlan customers," said Josh Burch, ClearBlue co-founder.

"We believe software in general is too complex. Too many features, too many clicks, too much to learn. We focus on smart solutions that get the user from A to B quickly and easily. Selecting the right insurance coverage is complex enough without a poor piece of software to make it nearly impossible."
