The price of the mandatory automobile "Third party liability insurance" would not go down with more than 30% after the Bulgarian government abolished the minimum threshold.

Daniela Konova, chair of the Association of Bulgarian Insurers, has stated in a televised interview that the change would be enforced in January 2006.

The insurers are currently discussing premiums packets of EUR 65 - 75 for the popular vehicle class. The insurance could become even cheaper depending on the traffic and infrastructure of the area where the automobile is mostly used. Small-town packets could even be under EUR 50.
