LONDON (Reuters) - Brit Insurance Holdings (BRE.L: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Monday the net impact from the U.S. hurricanes and New Orleans flood would be 182.5 million pounds but added that it expected to remain in profit for the full-year.

The insurer said it would pay an uncovered final dividend for 2005 and would use current market conditions to "utilise more fully our strong balance sheet thereby increasing the return on equity for our shareholders."
